Future Value Investment Strategy™

Know Where—and How—to Invest.

Every investment of time, development, opportunity, coaching, support, and resources represents a choice. Future Value Investment Strategy™ brings Current Contribution and Future Value Capacity together to determine where investment should be focused—and then uses the evidence behind those results to determine how.

Invest in the constraint. Protect what creates value. Build what comes next.

Two Dimensions of Value

Today's contribution and tomorrow's capacity answer different questions.

Future Value Investment Strategy™ separates two perspectives that are often blurred together in talent decisions—then brings them together only when the objective is to decide where and how to invest.

Assessment evidence comes first. Future Value Capacity is established through the applicable Future Value Assessment™. Current Contribution remains a separate input and is added only when the objective is to make an investment decision for an individual or team.
Current Contribution is not simply a performance rating. FVF uses relevant evidence of contribution and impact to create a structured view of the value being delivered today. Existing performance evaluations, goal achievement, documented results, incentives, and other relevant evidence may inform the assessment; FVF does not replace the organization's performance management system.
The Future Value Investment Grid™

Nine positions. Nine different investment objectives.

Future Value Capacity and Current Contribution intersect to establish an investment position. Each position creates a different starting objective for how investment should be considered.

The position tells us where to look.
The evidence tells us how to invest.

ⓘ Placement is not the answer. It's the beginning of the investment decision.
From Position to Plan

The Grid identifies the position. The evidence builds the strategy.

Future Value Investment Strategy™ moves through a disciplined sequence so the final recommendation is grounded in more than a box on a matrix.

Assess Future Value. The completed Future Value Assessment™ provides the six-dimension scores, Future Value Profile™, and Future Value Capacity Rating that form the Future Value side of the investment decision.

Sustain

Current Contribution: High · Future Value Capacity: High

Protect strong contribution and strong Future Value Capacity by sustaining the conditions that support continued value over time. The objective is not to push for more simply because performance is strong; it is to preserve engagement, meaningful challenge, capability, and sustainable impact while avoiding unnecessary disruption or overextension.

Beyond the Box

Same position doesn't mean same investment.

Two people can occupy the same Grid position and still require very different investments. Grid placement establishes the objective; the six-dimensional pattern, exact ratings, and supporting evidence refine the strategy.

The Grid prevents one-size-fits-all investment. The Future Value Profile™ prevents one-size-fits-all interpretation.
